By Toni This product is a lure that is intended to be placed in the plastic jug shown in the picture. It is a refill for the jug, which serves as the "trap" that is described. I think they should make it more clear that you are just getting the refill packet. Anyway, if you follow the directions given, they seem to work well. I have three of them in my yard, filled with the swampiest water I can find. You can't use regular tap water and expect them to work. Give it at least a couple of weeks after you see mosquitos in your yard before expecting to see any inside. The mosquitos are attracted to it to lay their eggs after they have a blood meal, so it takes a while for the trap to work. It is only effective in getting rid of the female mosquito and her future offspring. I have opened the jug to find not only swarms of mosquitos inside, but on more than one occasion, a very well fed and happy frog as well! The mosquitos eventually die, because they can't find their way back out of the container. If you are trying to find a way to get rid of mosquitos and to keep beneficial insects around, give these a try. I tried this product last year and it worked great for me. I can move the container around the yard to keep the mosquitos away from me. I plan on buying a refill for this season.
