Effective Repellent By Shepherd 2.0 These coils are designed to keep mosquitoes away via micro-particulate sensory disruption. The bugs don't like the smell. This product works extremely well for keeping the pests away. I've used the coils outdoors --low wind conditions-- but still outdoors and they work quite well. Mostly I use these while woodworking in my backyard (sounds like a fire hazard, I know.) and I've found these particular coils will help deter flies and gnats as well, though they're not 100% effective in that roll. As for the coil itself, it's like a thick incense stick (coil) that burns REAL slow. It gives off a pleasant odor (to me, anyway. 'Course I find paint thinner to be pleasant). It is a nice smell, though. The (2) stands included are made of thin, flexible steel. They hold the coils stably. woo. This product is overall an excellent stationary bug repellent. Of course it won't replace a good spray-on for when you're actively hiking, and won't be particularly helpful if it's windy. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. They break easily inside the package By Roberts_Resources Good thing these are relatively inexpensive, because they are packaged in plastic wrap in a small stack of a 10 circular coils as shown. These coils are rather delicate, and arrived at my home with several broken coils. Due to the low cost, not a big deal but further, as you remove them from the non-sturdy box, and plastic bag, if you're not VERY careful you will have more product breakage.
