Mosquito Barrier is a very strong liquid garlic made from very potent garlic cloves. The garlic used in Mosquito Barrier is a very powerful variety which is much more potent than the garlic found in grocery stores (in fact, our lab people here refer to it as super garlic). Spraying garlic to keep insects away is not something new, farmers and master gardeners have been doing it for many generations. Since mosquitoes are soft-bodied insects the garlic juice can be very toxic to them in increased concentrations. The juice does not harm humans or pets or plants, but to mosquitoes it can be deadly. The odor of it chases them out of the area and they stay away for as long as they can detect the odor. While the odor of sprayed garlic juice becomes undetectable to humans within minutes, the mosquitoes will still detect it. Mosquitoes have extremely sensitive odor sensing antennae, as high as 10,000 times better than humans. They can detect the garlic extract for much longer periods of time and will stay away from the sprayed area for up to a month and more. If the mosquitoes arent in your yard, they cant get into your house. Additionally, Mosquito Barrier, when mixed with soybean oil (available at your local grocery store) plus the water, coats any standing water in the area with a very thin film of natural oil, including some garlic oil which is present in the garlic juice. This oil suffocates the mosquito larvae which are developing in any standing water. Mosquito Barrier, unlike harmful chemicals, doesnt kill bees or butterflies and is completely safe for children, fish, birds, dogs, cats and other pets. Generally, four applications are enough for the entire mosquito and tick season. Even in the heaviest of infestations the gallon size is almost always enough for the entire year for most homes - including areas where the mosquito is the state bird.

With zhigo16 I heard about the Mosquito Barrier, after asking friends on FB what to use to kill / repel ticks after shooting a dog brown fat check my shih tsu, Hannah. Read with interest the majority of comments here and found a particularly Member, Central New York, who said he actually push the Asian tiger mosquito unpleasant if you double the power. Since there is no risk or danger to increase the dose, I did not even measure, but just dumping a cup of my 1-gal. garden sprayer. Two gallons were enough to make every inch of my garden, garden, home, porches, etc. .. The smell of garlic was still there in the morning, but spent the time I returned to work the next day. The best part about this, so .... NO ticks, mosquitoes! In fact, we were driven out in one evening just a week before application. Just found my first Mosquito now three weeks later. But to be honest, we've got very little rain from mid May until just this week, the third June week told my neighbors with a baby and dog, and bought large, even and applied last week. I think if in return we will be able to get through the summer and still have enough left for next year. BTW, I was walking around a pond very slow near the Erie Canal yesterday and an intense smell of garlic on the grassy part of the trip. I've never seen a mosquito all the time I was there, and I think the common Mosquito Barrier sprayed along the edge of the pond, too! Coincidentally, ABC News just did a piece on deer ticks, babesiosis other deadly disease in patients with immunodeficiencies like me and my old mother (both cancer survivors). They told how he migrated from New England to the Lower Hudson Valley in my home state NY. Krysl I would say that this spray works on the floor of the announced requirement (8.4 hours, at least for me). I was happy to find something natural, because this product is substantially all vegetable oils. For those interested, the ingredients are: (active) soybean oil, geranium oil, castor oil, cedar oil, citronella oil, peppermint oil, lemongrass oil (inactive) purified water, oil, coconut, glycerin, lecithin, sodium bicarbonate, citric acid, benzoic acid, wintergreen oil. Most consumer products will not describe inert ingredients, so I am especially grateful for detailed analysis. That way I can sure it is safe to use. Overall, a good deal. I can see how some people dislike the smell is pretty strong, but I liked it. And "some" as a combination of cedar and sandalwood. It can be a bit "strong to wear if you want to be closed, but dirty stinking camping trip goes well. Did it work? Oh yeah, I tried myself and my clothes and went into the bush. There were tons of ticks that . I find them crawling on my backpack and my tent every few minutes. We were brushing them out of their gear for the whole day. Ultimately, I had a bite of a mosquito or tick. It was just a camping trip, but I will say that it worked as well as considering how DEET bug-infested place it was. While the other brands has worked well, the smell was just terrible and I could not bear the smell even after a few minutes, the spray has a special smell stronger, but it seemed to fade (the smell, not power) fairly quickly. The first time I've Buzz Away was in our local pool, where I usually eaten alive by mosquitoes. We were about two hours during this visit, and I'm biting freely. It was welcomed relief to think as mosquitoes that bite her personal toy I'm prone. If you are concerned, to put DEET on your body (as we all should be), I think it's really a great product to try. Remember that the product is not the whole day on the body (it is for about 3-4 hours of work can not be extended), but I'm perfectly happy to install the product again if I'm out there all day to to avoid any products that DEET on the skin. I'm a fan of the Jungle repulsive, but I have found this to work very well. What I like is that it is not too much fat and there is very little odor. It is 23% DEET, which is a high as found in most normal bug spray. It's a good idea to wash it off when you are back in or some people may have a reaction to high DEET content. Not for children. While everyone is completely bug free, she gets eaten alive. We have tried a lot of patches, bracelets etc, because she is a very active 4 years old. Until now, these spots are best. I gave it four stars, but because I wish it were a transdermal. My daughter change clothes a lot during the day but needs constant protection. By parents Finn So my wife and I also thought the smell was terrible, and immediately wanted to bathe our son 10 months, when we brought in, it worked. We have a joke that the insects did not bother him because he smelled so bad, but it does what it actually was, and it does not stop with any mosquito bites. The product might feel better. We wished we had our baby a bath before we take a nap, but we are glad that he did not get a bite. When the smell is not disruptive for the child or the parents, we absolutely recommend. Lady Luxe pleasant scent, I bought these candles after trying to find the old citronella candle shop. Our platform does not lend itself to use rockets to deter insects, so I wanted candles, but no one seems to have the candles that I remember. These candles are attractive and have a fresh scent, not nearly as bad as the citronella candle of my youth. But I can not really say if it discourages pests on the bridge, but not too much bother me when I sit in the evening. By David Choi went to Thailand and was terrified of mosquitoes, because my friends told me to eat them. I used this product and have little anywhere, except when they apply, as the face, ears and behind the knees and elbows. It worked very well wherever they are applied. My friend who was given little spray, even if you use the product. The product leaves a thin layer of wax after application, but it seems that all products containing DEET to make a short film and is something that has to get used to if you want to protect themselves from mosquito bites. Florida in the spring is hot and humid, even at night, and mosquitoes are the size of a penny from an angle like a stealth fighter jet, which, along with many mosquitoes and other insects, is a camping trip very uncomfortable if you are not prepared. Becomes a struggle between the need to get rid of parasites and must be able to think clearly. I was in a grocery store outside of hippies and asked them if they had anything for natural repellents, and the guy behind the counter said there was one thing, and it was not really sure how it works. I bought it at a price of elite hippie, and not really anything special that I waded out into deep forests Alabama known to man, on a backpacking trip. That said, I basically had stopped using my backyard because I was tired of bites and the risk of West Nile virus. I do not like nasty chemicals used to eradicate all life from my garden. We have 4 children, families and many others, and spread it around us frequent places in the backyard (the pool) around the perimeter, and we had about three bites of mosquitoes in three weeks. Liquid Net Insect repellent is an excellent protection against mosquito bites. Its scent is very similar to citronella. I have a lot of popular, scalable, coil plastic wristband repellents, insect-like, and I reuse them for years and years every day with a light spray of liquid with Net. I pulled my wrists and ankles and the mosquitoes leave me alone. If I wear short sleeves and / or shorts I've also a few on my arms and knees. It has a pleasant smell. Most people believe that you burn a candle citronela when they smell it. Except for the second best thing is that it is all natural, from all natural oils. It is grainy, so you flip the lid and it is distributed by hand. I've put it in my flower beds, shrubs, patios, and without problems. I have no pets, I do not think it's use around pets. Brooklyn Girl I bought this product after reading all the reviews here on Amazon. I thought I would get an effective and safe product, but that was not the case. This product does not work at all. Before you go out, I sprayed both myself and my son from head to toe because we are both prone to getting bitten by insects, particularly mosquitoes. My son bites tend to swell and you are so uncomfortable that I do my best to protect you against bites cause. To my dismay, I was twice on my left arm and once on my right arm within minutes we were out there for less than 10 minutes before I was bitten bitten. I promptly placed the spray where it belonged - in the trash. I go to one. Dees I've used this product over the Cascade Mountains in Washington (while working as a wilderness ranger for the Forest Service) to the Everglades (such as Outward Bound Wilderness Instructor). It has never failed me. Dressing for bugs is always your best bet, but a little spritz of this around the neck and ankles can certainly enjoyable evening. With JS Carr, grew most of us up with DEET and not thought a whole lot of them. Well, those days are over. DEET is still widely used because it is so darn efficient. If you keep away mosquitoes, you need to know, you can count on DEET. In contrast, you probably said, you can try a special beauty lotions and found that although the works are little, you still have to thoroughly revised and with bugs to do much. It turns out that nature has some tricks of its own. Well, insects "systems" ... Nervous system? neurological? is there a difference? I do not know, and it does not matter for these purposes ... Insects are a lot of very frequent connections disrupted produced by plants. It is no coincidence. Plants produce these compounds to protect themselves from being eaten by insects (they do not like it much either bugs!) These plants include some of the mint, geranium, lemon, eucalyptus and this. Lemon eucalyptus is really what they do outside of lemongrass. I personally never had any luck with lemongrass. Oil of lemon eucalyptus works best. But this stuff does not work and the DEET? Absolutely not. If you spend a week in a swamp, then * not * find the appropriate relief of this (nor, probably, by DEET, for that matter). However, if you plan to grill in the back with your children and dog racing and wants to be able to get some protection that has no health problems, but really something, then n is not bad to have a bottle in the around. I wish it were in mint oils because I found them to be even more effective. Of those that CR recommended the oil of lemon eucalyptus-based repellent was the only one on par with DEET products in the form of hours of effectiveness. It is interesting to note that the front of the bottle says it repels mosquitoes for six hours, but tests showed that CSR is still going strong was after eight hours - the equivalent of more than 15% DEET pump design the questions in other reviews, II had no problem with mine. What is just a pump spray bottle, you can not hold it upside down to spray your legs, because it is not repellent straw and nothing comes out. I insist on reading some of the studies reviewed by scientific peers before moving away from insect repellent containing DEET. Some documents on oil of lemon eucalyptus, also known as OLE or PMD (the synthetic version), I noticed that made me read more. Both sites show that OLE is actually proven effective, but not equivalent (per hour) to DEET> 30%.
