By Alan Ault I purchased this pricey product because on the label it states that it "Kills On Contact". I drenched three indoor plants with 12oz and unless you heard the insects into a pool and drown them with it you may not see any results. To me if the label states it will kill on contact, then short of clobbering them with a bat I would expect them to at least keel over and cough. Hair spray worked better. Wojcik The manner in which Shoo-tags claim to repel insects is fantasy, and bad fantasy at that. I feel sorry for anyone stupid enough to believe insects can be repelled by a magnetic strip. There is no "energy field" or "signal" these could possibly emit without a power source, and even if they did, there is no such signal that insects even pick up on.The company that manufactures these meaningless hunks of plastic has "donated" thousands of them to poor countries. Let that sink in a moment. The diseases carried by mosquitoes kill more humans each year than any other natural phenomenon known to science. Now there are thousands of people walking around in malaria-ridden countries carrying worthless little tags that they believe offer any kind of protection whatsoever. Our black lab learned very quickly how to go in and out. Now we don't have to keep opening and closing the door for him. Super easy to install. Our area is not very "buggy" so it does what we want which is keep out the flies and mosquitos while letting fresh air inside. The bottom is not a tight seal so if you deal with crawly bugs it may not be the best for you, but we love it! I know some people commented that it needs more magnets but aside from occasionally rearranging the magnets after they have flipped it's been just fine. A good product! See all 1 customer reviews...

Works for Japanese Beetles on Black Raspberries By ROBERT W BJERK This product killed Japanese Beetles on our black raspberries within a couple of minutes. It is listed to kill these beetles on contact, and it does. It also is listed as safe for use up to the day of harvest. It is made with botanical insecticides. It says to minimize harm to honey bees, spray in early morning or dusk, so it apparently can affect beneficial insects as well. I found it took very little to quickly kill the beetles, and I could direct the spray very precisely at the leaves, with minimal overspray. I doubt many bees would be landing on the raspberry leaves. Another caution mentioned is that it is harmful to fish, crabs, and shrimp if there is runoff to such an area. It seemed the safest thing I could find for berries, and it is very effective. It is pyrethin-based and is listed as safe and effective for a wide range of fruits and vegetables against a large number of pests. 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Worked for James By Fruit Bat My 23 pound (very) mixed breed dog had a couple of seizures which scared both him and me. I had been using Frontline for fleas and ticks and a separate monthly heartworm chew. Thinking perhaps something in one of the two treatments caused the seizures, I first eliminated Frontline and tried Flea Away last summer. The result: no more seizures and no fleas -- and fleas are a big problem where we live. My dog eats premium food, is in good health and has short hair which could add to the effectiveness of Flea Away. I begin giving it to him before flea season is in full swing and he gobbles up the tablet. However, the small print on the front of the canister reads "DIRECTIONS FOR USE: For use in garden beds, around pools, picnic areas, patios, cookouts and camp sites to repel biting, blood-feeding insects such as mosquitoes, flies, gnats, no-see-ums and fleas. Liberally sprinkle the ground with BugBand in 10 foot sections. Normally, re-treat every 2 days. Depending on temperature, time of year and insect activity, daily application may be required. Do not put in pool or food production areas. Nor for use as a pesticide." REALLY WISH I HAD BEEN ABLE TO READ THAT IN THE PRODUCT IMAGE! Our mosquito population is pretty dense and I was hoping this would be the cure. I could handle monthly application during the summer, maybe even every two weeks. But every day?! I will have to save this canister to use right before our next outdoor party and rate its effectiveness then. Ruined My Beautiful Garden, Bugs Survived By EK Trying to be responsible, I purchased the EcoSmart at a local mass-market merchant to reduce garden pests. I sprayed at dusk when the sun was not so hot and to to avoid possible foliage damage. I was trying to spray just the ground, but the sub-par spray nozzel shoots every which way. I am no a rookie at this, I have been gardening for years. The next day EVERY SINGLE PLANT HAD BROWN AND WHITE MAKRS ALL OVER THE LEAVES. Some were just laying on the ground. My gorgeous garden WAS RUINED WITH JUST ONE LIGHT APPLICATION. I tried rinsing all the plants individually that morning and several times thereafter. NO luck. It ruined the butterfly bush, it ruined the coneflowers, it ruined the basil, it ruined the parsley, it ruined the dill, it ruined the cilantro, it ruined the coral bells, it ruined the lillies, it runined the impatience, it ruined the hostas, it ruined the lambs' ear, it ruined the spiderwort, it ruined the vinca, it ruined the hydrangeas, it ruined the petunias, it ruined the phlox, it ruined the hollyhocks and the cosmos...need I go on? Hundreds if not thousands of dollars worth of plants and hard work ruined with one application. I didn't even use half the bottle on my 2000 sq. ft. garden. Repeated calls to customer service...messages left as they DO NOT ANSWER THEIR PHONES EVER.... states they will get back to you in 48 hours. HAHAHAH. Still waiting. Definitely helps By K. L. Jordan I just moved this year into a place in the woods and forgot how many bugs there could be in the house. This worked as a foundation spray that cut down the amount of bugs getting in the house. It says it lasts through rains and it does. I've sprayed only twice this year (but we've had record rainfall in WI this year). It doesn't work with mosquitos, so I had to add a fog for that. It did eliminate earwigs, ants, most spiders, beetles, millipedes, etc. I saw that someone used this ON their plants - I almost did that too, but it didn't sound like I should do that based on the label directions. The same brand makes another product for that labelled "Garden Insect Killer". Some of the ingredients are similar, but the garden insect killer is a pump spray and has only plant oils in it, where this one has a few other ingredients and is a spray that attaches to a garden hose (more concentrated). The garden one works well but has to be reapplied more often (than other sprays I have used) due to watering. But I had to spray something on my basil this year and this was the only product that I could spray directly on something I would be eating later. After about 1-2 months, I noticed aphids on the plant so I bought this product to kill the aphids. I sprayed the plant in the evening. By morning, the aphids were dead. That's the good news. The bad news is that it also killed two of the leaves on the banana plant. I wasn't terribly bummed out about this because I needed to eventualy cut those leaves anyways. Macy During late spring/early summer, we have mosquitoes, mainly at the grass level, but this year we were getting mosquitoes at the deck level (8 ft. above the grass). Loving my indoor reed diffusers, when I saw the Skeeter Screen Outdoor Mosquito Deterrent, I decided to give it a try. I placed the diffuser on a table on our small deck, but that evening we still had mosquitoes. Thinking perhaps it hadn't been outside long enough, I set it right between my husband's and my chairs, and then left it there for the next evening sunset and wild animal watching. We were still being attacked by mosquitoes and didn't stay out long. This continued until we finally resorted to spraying each other and the area with Off Deep Woods to get the relaxing, pleasant evening experience we enjoy, free of mosquitoes. In addition, the box says "The oils will be absorbed up through the reeds and then will be released naturally into your outdoor environment for up to 4 months of continuous diffusion." I guess one month is "up to 4 months," as one month is as long as the oil lasted. So not only did it not work, even if it had, I would have been buying a few more to cover the mosquito season. [...] was printed on the box, so I went to the web site and followed the instructions to contact them and express my disappointment in the product. I have had no response, and so decided to leave a review at Amazon, since there were no reviews for the Skeeter Screen Outdoor Mosquito Deterrent. I would like to think I might have gotten a bad batch (UPC 3161590100) and willing to try it again, but since Scent Shop has not replied, I would not recommend spending the money on this product. Indoor use Perfect for bedroom By David Palmiter We've used this for several weeks in our daughters bedroom. we live in an extrely mosquito invested area and every morning she would have bites all over her. we didn't think it was working as no moqutos were caught. but just today i checked and found almost a dozen nasty fly's and mosquitoes in there!! Best part of this is that it doubles as a perfect Night Light! The unit produces a soothing fan sound that doubles as a noise maker. So, we were happy with that even though at first it didn't catch anything. My unit did not come with any bait or attrctant. i used Flowtrons self adhesive atractant and just stuck it on the unit. I'll contact the maker and see if they will send me the attactant. Overall, might not be a powerful Bug Zapper, but this is an ideal unit for indoor use, especially in a bedroom. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Whenever I set it up, in a couple of hours the catch basket is teeming with all sorts of flies, moths, beetles, and other unidentifiable flying creatures. So as an insect trap it is great. Unfortunately, I purchased this product to catch mosquitoes, not moths or flies. Since I started using the product, I have not caught a single mosquito. I have used the mosquito attractant provided (made of yougurt???!!!) with no luck. After I argued on the phone about the absurdity of me having to pay return shipping,`they agreed to pay, but the return became a hassle necessitating quite a number of time consuming phone calls and emails. My yard is surrounded by thick woods with tons of nasty mosquitoes that eat my whole family alive. I've tried lots of natural bug repellents, but nothing ever seems to work as well as DEET, but I have sensitive skin and DEET makes me break out. Also I won't use DEET on my kids.
